The Royal Town’s annual Civic Service is on Sunday 9 June, welcoming civic guests and those who represent the many public and voluntary organisations within the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield. It is a time of year when the residents of the local community gather to give thanks to those who live and work in Sutton Coldfield.
It is an opportunity to show appreciation for the vital public and community services to ensure our safety and wellbeing and recognise the important role civic leaders and community representatives hold within the Royal Town. The service, held at Holy Trinity Parish Church will be led by Rev’d Canon Becky Stephens and will welcome members of other faith communities across the Town.
This year, The Town Council is pleased to share the news that the Rt Hon. the Lord Fowler has been appointed High Steward of the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield. The role of High Steward is a traditional, ceremonial role which was held in Sutton Coldfield since 1547 but ceased in 1974 when Sutton Coldfield joined with Birmingham. Lord Fowler’s inauguration will take place within the Civic Service taking place at 2pm on Sunday 9th June 2024 at Holy Trinity (CE) Church.
