The Great British Spring Clean, ran by Keep Britain Tidy, is the nation’s biggest mass action environmental campaign. This year the campaign will run from 15th March – 31st March 2024.
The campaign promotes keeping our streets and green spaces free of litter.
And here at the Town Council, we’re encouraging residents, community groups, faith organisations and schools to join us in pledging their support.
Previously, groups have organised mass litter picks engaging with local school children or uniformed groups. It’s also a brilliant opportunity to engage in your local area and find out more about the work our towns community groups who work tirelessly to protect and preserve our green spaces.
Keep Britain Tidy will also be celebrating their 70th year so are encouraging groups to make a #PlatinumPledge by picking 70 items, or 70 bags or spending 70 minutes in the great outdoors litter picking.
You can also get involved in the campaign on social media using the hashtag #LocalLitterHeroes and #GBSpringClean to show your appreciation for those who help to keep our spaces and streets litter free. And don’t forget to tag the Town Council in your posts, we’d love to see what you do.

It would be great to see as many of our local groups involved as possible.
